Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take?
Shipping consumes the most time. After the package arrives, we will post
an estimate describing the work and parts required. Repairs can be completed in a few days
because we stock the most common parts. The current in-shop repair time is a 14 to 30 days.
How much will it cost?
Repairs range from $110(minimum repair charge) to around $250(complete overhaul). This
depends on the amount of time and parts needed to complete the repair. An
example of a common repair is replacing several relays, and electronic components which
runs around $125 plus return shipping. We clean and throughly test the board and include a 90 day
Warranty
How do I Pay?
We will e-mail you an invoice from PayPal. Click on the link, then input your
credit card info. PayPal will complete the transaction on their secured server with
buyer protection. We will both receive e-mails when the funds have been transferred.
Spa-Boards pays the service fee. You are not required to create a PayPal account.
What should I send in with the board?
We stock the most common spa Top Sides
, temp sensors, and transformers to use for testing purposes. Sometimes we will ask if you can send in the
top side control or sensors. Depending on the type of failure, we may not be
able to give it a final test without the accessories.
What's the cheapest and quickest way to ship?
USPS Priority Mail, Flat Rate Box ($10.70 & 2-3 days) with delivery confirmation
(.70) beats every other shipping carrier in both cost and speed. There is up to a 20 lb
weight limit for the Flat Rate Boxes. We use the USPS primarily for return shipping since the
post office is across the street from our repair shop.
How do I follow the progress of my repair?
Once you create a repair order, you will receive an e-mail with a username
and password to logon to our system. After you have shipped in the board, logon
and enter your tracking number. This will help us plan for your board's arrival time.
We update your account with the Board Status
as it goes through the repair process. Check in daily to stay informed.
How much does it cost to test my control?
We have a $65 Bench Test charge for the testing and evaluation of a control.
This includes the circuit board, topside control panel, sensors, and transformer. If you
don't know which part is bad. Let us check it out. If a repair is necessary, the
Bench Test charge will be applied to the cost of the repair.
I got the board back but the Spa still doesn't work
This is a common problem we often hear about. We can only test the functionality of the board. There
are many other parts of the spa that can fail. You will be notified during the testing process if the board is working
correctly on the bench. At which point there will be a $65 bench charge. Or, you may request changing suspect components
(i.e. heater relay, low speed pump relay, filter capacitors) to rule out the board as a possible problem.
Do you offer technical support for the Spa?
Unfortunately, we can not offer troubleshooting of the Spa. However, we can provide technical support in regards to the circuit board
(i.e. wiring diagrams, error code descriptions, and other common issues.) Refer to your spa manual, manufacturer,
or Spa techincian for more detailed information.
Do you service International customers?
Yes! We have repaired several boards for our friends from the north in Canada.
Charges are expressed in US Dollars and payment is made through PayPal. Spa-Boards looks forward to serving
other international customers and welcomes all inquiries.
